Grenoble INP Esisar

Engineering school of Embedded Systems and Networks

Esisar is part of the Grenoble Institute of Engineering and Management (Grenoble INP) at Univ. Grenoble Alpes. Established in 1995, Esisar trains the future engineers in Embedded Systems and IT technologies, with an advanced curriculum based on Electronics, Computer Sciences/IT, Control and Networks. Every year the University welcomes 500 students, 15 % of which are international students. The University has developed its five-year engineering studies in close contact with the industry, and has a well-developed business promotion policy.

The school of Esisar targets embedded systems safety and security. The following courses already exist: hardware security, functional verification and cryptography, safety and security of distributed embedded systems applicable to the domains of Internet of Things (IoT), health, building efficiency, and cybersecurity. Most of these courses are taught in English and already supported by numerous laboratories where the students (international master MISTRE students or engineer and apprentice students) have the opportunity to apply the theory and understand in practice the methods for safety and security in electronic devices. Despite that several laboratories already exist (including Side-Channel-Attack bench using Chipwhisperer tools, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) design of complex cipher primitives and the use of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)), there is a need for laboratories amelioration. The equipment is installed and available for the students in a dedicated laboratory room called SACCO platform.
